It’s time again to meet another Kingston Printing team member! This month we chatted with Allen Stuart, National Accounts Manager. With a history of over 12 years at Kingston, Allen has worked on quite a wide variety of projects. Allen says it’s important to him that taking care of Kingston customers – whether it be their first project or 101st project – is his passion. Learn more about Allen below, from what inspired him to join Kingston, to what makes Kingston great – and his love of fantasy sports leagues!
- When and why did you join the Kingston team?
In January 2006 I officially started working at Kingston. In reality though, Kingston had helped me with many complex projects since the mid-90’s while I worked at another national print company. It was their “Can Do” spirit that would help capture those jobs and I knew then I would work at Kingston someday. In the early 2000’s, with Kingston’s commitment to growth in the commercial print sector, I knew I had found a home. I really can’t imagine working anywhere else.
- What is your favorite part about your job?
Helping my customers with their print production management goals and projects. The appreciation and praise Kingston receives from customers on an ongoing basis is why I do what I do. And, explaining my “bus theory” of sales to all that will listen. Ha!
- Coolest print project you ever worked on and why?
Oh, so many, I can’t pinpoint just one. I’ve worked with some really cool designers and art directors over the years, so it’s a little hard to choose. But hearing a client say, “Kingston always creates where others won’t venture,” was the most fulfilling. That statement really reflects on the Kingston employees with an inventive style from the owner and on down to every Kingston team member.
- Favorite machine and why?
Our project managers, though they are not machines! They’re drivers of how our production system flows. In a nutshell, they’re the link between our customer’s needs and everything Kingston does to make their projects turn out great!
- Any tidbits about yourself outside of work – kids? Hobbies? Fun facts?
I’m married with 4 daughters, 1 granddaughter, 2 grandsons and a grand-dog. I enjoy all sports and run several fantasy sports leagues throughout the Kansas City area. I have also owned and raised race horses and look to get back into this industry someday… once I sell a lot more printing! It may not happen, but I do appreciate my parents in allowing me the privileges to enjoy that sport when I was younger.
