This month we’re highlighting Aaron Pacyau, Kingston’s Mailing Services Manager. Between ensuring that printing jobs are picture AND mail perfect, plus keeping busy with four young adults, Aaron is a pretty busy guy! Learn more below.
- When and why did you join the Kingston team?
I joined the team in March of 2017. I had the same title for a printing company in Las Vegas and got a phone call from a good friend saying that “The owner of the printing company I work for is looking for some help in his mailing department” and forwarded me Kyle’s (Johnson, Owner) phone number. My family and I were always open to moving back to Kansas, so I gave him a call immediately, and two weeks later, I was part of the Kingston Printing team.
- What is your favorite part about your job?
It’s the combination of doing computer work and operating machines that makes this a dream position. I never feel confined to an office chair or leashed to a machine. I also very much enjoy collaborating with production management to make sure we hit impossible deadlines and tight turns. Every decision-maker in this company are on the same page and we can easily come together to fulfill orders in a timely manner.
- Coolest print project you ever worked on and why?
When I worked in Nevada I had to mail a high-limit Black Jack tournament mailer with a voucher with values ranging from $100,000 to $1,000,000. The piece itself took some die-cut wizardry and the paper stock felt like money.
- Favorite machine and why?
I do very much enjoy my inkjet table, especially when I can place my tab-machine inline and make a two-pass job into one. We can run some jobs at 20,000 pieces an hour, which means more time at home with family.
- Any tidbits about yourself outside of work – kids? Hobbies? Fun facts?
I was born and raised in Kaneohe, Hawaii. My heart lead me to Kansas when I was 23. I am a father to triplet 16 year-old girls and a 20 year-old son. I have a passion for sound-engineering and have worked with various artists world-wide. All in all nice guy.
